Online user behaviour of Indian Youth - Statistics and Trends

A survey called The Web 2.0 Generation Survey 2010 was conducted by Tata Consultancy Services. TCS polled over 10,000 school going children between the ages of 12-18 in 11 cities across India during 2009-10. According to the survey

  • 85 per cent of the Indian youth use Google to find information and are also hooked to one or more social networking sites.
  • 70 per cent of the Indian youth spend more than 30 minutes every day on the internet.









Note: Nearly half of India’s total population is under the age of 20 and classified under the youth category creating a group of over 459 million – more than the whole of the American population.
